Renee & Aydin….a day of love….

Renee and Aydin are a very special couple to me. I have had the pleasure of getting to know them and their family over the past few years.

They decided to tie the knot in November last year at Burnham Grove , a stunning heritage venue near Camden.

It was a beautiful wedding…

Aydin and the groomsmen dressed at his parents home in Cecil Hills. We had so much fun, thanks to Aydin and all the groomsmen for making my job so easy!

Renee and the bridesmaids dressed at Aydin and Renees home in Bradbury.

She looked absolutely stunning and the girls looked gorgeous in pink and silver….

We took lots of pics and before we knew it, it was time to go…

Aydin arrived at the ceremony on his Dad’s Harley, fully escorted by some other Harley enthusiasts.

The groomsmen were in a Red chevy and Renee arrived in a pink cadillac (envious, aren’t you?)

It was just fantastic!!

Lots of dark rain clouds threatened but held off for the entire afternoon.

The ceremony was lovely, it was held in a hedged area of the garden.

We then spent the next few hours taking pics of the bridal party, the cars and of course the happy couple.

The reception was held inside a beautiful marquee on the lawn and was complete with some very funny speeches (by the best man), wonderful food and music and a real party atmosphere.

Congratulations again guys, I wish you all the happiness in the world..

Rikki & Tom….a Wedding to Remember

Rikki and Tom are a gorgeous couple. They married recently at ‘Bella Vista Farm’- a venue which dates back to the 1700’s and holds great significance for the Bride’s family. Rikki’s paternal grandfather and his siblings were born and raised on this beautiful property so it seemed ‘just right’ to hold their wedding there.

The theme was country/rustic. The ceremony (performed by Celebrant Alexie Mckeith) was held under a beautiful tree near the original homestead. Rikki looked absolutely stunning! Her dress was ‘Brides desire’ by Airs and Graces from Fashions by Farina. Her hair and makeup (by Renee Elizabeth Wanna) was gorgeous. Tom from Iridescent weddings was the wedding co-ordinator on the day.

The guys were in grey and Tom could not take his eyes off Rikki for the whole day!!

We had loads of fun with the location photos – we walked all around the property, it was such a beautiful day and the light was superb!

The reception was held in the old packing shed and was lovingly decorated by all the bridal party the day before the wedding. There were gorgeous white flowers on every table, bales of hay were turned into couches and lots of hessian around the room  – it definitely had a real ‘country feel.’

Fabulous finger food was served by Icon Event catering and the crowd didn’t take long to get into the festivities…everyone had a great time dancing and letting their hair down.

The speeches were some of the nicest (and funniest) I’ve heard….

Congratulations again to both of you…and thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome…

love and best wishes

Chris xx

Jodie & Michael’s Wedding…

I really do have the best job in the world – I get to meet the NICEST people and check out the most amazing places!

Jodie and Michael were married at ‘Lovedale Cottages’ in the beautiful Hunter Valley late last year. They have being staying in these fantastic ‘rustic’ cottages for years and decided it was the perfect place for their wedding.

We were blessed with fantastic weather and the day started with Jodie and Michael both getting ready in their separate cottages!

The bride was then driven up to the ceremony in a rolls royce (I mean through the paddock, right up to the ceremony!!!) and afterwards we had a ball taking lots of shots around the property.

The day was topped off by a fantastic ‘party’ style reception.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome.

Christine & Robert….

Christine and Robert are a beautiful couple and we had a ball on their wedding day. The day started out early at Christine’s parents home at Croydon. We photographed the girls getting ready and Robert decided to surprise Christine by sending their beloved dog over to see her whilst she was getting ready – she loved it!

We then headed off to Curzon Hall at Marsfield for the Ceremony and Reception. We had so much fun, I’ve never seen a full dance floor doing the YMCA at a day time wedding before!!

The skies really opened up for our location shoots at Blues Point Reserve, Martin Place and The Rocks. It didn’t dampen anyones spirits though, no-one in the bridal party seemed to even notice the rain….

Congratulations again guys….thanks to everyone for making the day so special..Dont forget to click on the images to enlarge them.

Phil & Mel’s Wedding

We had a fabulous day photographing Phil and Mel’s wedding. Mel got ready at her Mums place at Sylvania, the ceremony was at Our Lady of Fatima, Kingsgrove. We braved the cold and the wind and headed down to La Perouse for some location photos and then off to ‘Gardens on Forest’ at Peakhurst for the reception. Congratulations guys!!!

Romance is in the air!

Hi everyone,

I’d like to share with you a fantastic ‘marriage proposal’ story.

Denis and Yvonne met last year on a Fitness Training Course in Sydney. They quickly became a couple and Denis returned home to St. Petersburg Russia late last year. In December Yvonne packed up and headed overseas to pay him a visit.

Denis took Yvonne to the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg. As the clock struck 12 and the midday canon was fired, Denis proposed to Yvonne with the words “would you like to be my wife”…To complete this romantic scene (in freezing temperatures) he also presented her with Roses and a beautiful engagement ring!!!. Yvonne was completely shocked – both from his words and the sound of the canon!! Obviously Yvonne said “Yes” and wedding plans were soon underway!

How romantic is that? A beautiful romantic city, two people in love and a canon!!

Yvonne and Denis will be married in October this year at the Clovelly Surf Club in front of family and friends.

If you have a romantic proposal story you’d like to share, please email your story and a couple of photos to cbernasconi1@optusnet.com.au

hmmm…the romantic in me just loves stories like this!

Kelly and Simon – Feature wedding of the month

Each month at Bernasconi Photography, I am going to feature one of my favourite weddings.

This month the choice was easy.

Simon and Kelly were introduced by mutual friends at a pub in Dubbo after Kelly had moved into the area for work. They decided to marry late last year and set the date for 26th September 2009.Kelly wore a gorgeous pearl coloured wedding dress by Maggie Sottero from Dressence at Miranda in Sydney.  Doreen Gatt from The Art of Hair did a fantastic job with Kelly’s hair – considering the wind we had on the day – it looked great from start to finish. The Ceremony was held at Braeburn Gardens in Double Bay with the harbour as the backdrop and the Reception afterwards at Kelly’s Aunt and Uncle’s home in Double Bay.

During the ceremony we had very windy conditions . Both the Bride and Groom seemed oblivious to it, but it certainly kept me on my toes! Kelly and Simon were very easy to photograph. They are a very down to earth couple who were quite at home in front of the camera.

We had an absolute ball taking lots of photos in the gardens and then down on the waterfront…

The reception was fantastic! Gastronomy (best caterers I’ve ever worked with) provided the most delicious food..Kelly’s Uncle, Glenn Shorrock sang a couple of well known tunes for Kelly and Simon. The cake and flowers were from Brides in Bloom at Stanmore.

This really was a fantastic wedding. Thanks to  everyone for making me feel so welcome, especially the groomsmen, who had me in stitches during the location photo shoot.

Congratulations Kelly and Simon, it was a pleasure working with you.
