Autumn Colours – Mount Wilson NSW

Don’t you just love autumn? The colours, the textures and the way the plants change….

This year in Sydney we’ve had a really warm autumn….25 degree days – for the last couple of weeks – even as I speak – today is going to be 25 degrees again!!

I thought I might have been a bit late to head up to Mount Wilson and photograph the colours…but they surprised me….when you are way up high the temperature really does its thing to the trees and landscape…

Here are some pics I took yesterday at two ‘Open Gardens’ at Mount Wilson…. ‘Windy Ridge’ and ‘Breenhold’  – Ray and I really enjoyed soaking up nature and being in the open spaces of these awesome properties.

I shot with two cameras {Canon 5d mk 11 and 5d mk 111} – I had my 24-105mm and my 100mm macro on both canon cameras – {thanks Ray for helping me with them.}

Remember to click on each photo to enjoy a large view…

cheers

A beautiful Japanese garden in the centre of Sydney….

This week I visited the ‘Botanical Gardens’ in Auburn, Sydney.

I haven’t been there for years. It’s a place I used to visit when my boys were young…

This time I visited to enjoy the sunshine and take some macro photography shots.

The gardens are ‘Japanese’ style…I was blown away by the peacefulness and serenity I experienced…There were so many beautiful flowers with such vivid colour – and you know how much I love colour 🙂

Entry was free on a week day and we enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around in the glorious sunshine.

All these pics were taken on my Canon 5D MKlll with a canon 100mm f2.8 L series macro lens. I added a slight amount of contrast to them in lightroom, otherwise the rich, vibrant colour is exactly what I saw…

A Beautiful Garden….

When David Bugeja asked me to travel up to Mackay to photograph his beloved garden, I jumped at the chance. A whole lot of time, passion and effort has gone into landscaping his entire block of land into a tropical paradise.

There are plants everywhere.  When he ran out of room on his existing block, he bought the block of land next door and kept planting!!

The garden is so lush and green, with lots of beautiful shapes and colours…I absolutely loved photographing it!

I am going to create some fantastic aluminium prints with these photos, which will be displayed in the outdoor spa area at the back of his home.

Aluminium prints are absolutely awesome. Your image is embedded directly into the aluminium. They feature durable archival quality plus the ultra gloss surface gives saturated colour and unbelievable detail. They are also weatherproof, scratchproof ,waterproof, lightweight and super easy to hang!

Do you have a garden that you would like photographed? I would love to help you create some fantastic wall art for your outdoor area!

Thanks David…It was great catching up with you, Deb and the boys.
